			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Army roared back from a fourth-quarter deficit, scoring a touchdown with slightly more than one minute left in the game to emerge victorious against North Texas, 17-13.</p>
<p>The Black Knights, now 5-6, need a win in their final regular-season game against Navy to qualify for the post-season and clinch a berth in the 2009 EagleBank Bowl.</p>
<p>Army has two bye weeks before squaring off at 2:30 pm on Saturday, December 12, against archrival Navy in Philadelphia. </p>
<p>In Conference USA action, Houston manhandled Memphis, 55-14. UCF held Tulane scoreless in a 49-0 rout. </p>
<p>East Carolina defeated UAB, 37-21, while Rice squeaked by UTEP, 30-29. </p>
<p>Marshall inched past SMU, 34-31, and Southern Mississippi beat Tulsa, 44-34.</p>
<p><strong>Week 12 Player of the Week</strong><br />
Army’s freshman quarterback, Trent Steelman, orchestrated a wild comeback for the Black Knights, accounting for all of Army’s 62 yards in a late fourth-quarter drive that propelled the Black Knights to a 17-13 victory over North Texas. Steelman’s two-yard touchdown run with 1:13 left in the game provided the winning points for Army.</p>

<p>Trent Steelman threw for a career-high 174 yards, Patrick Mealy rushed for a career-best 136 yards and Alex Carlton kicked three field goals as the Black Knights halted a three-game losing streak.</p>
<p>Army can reach the 2009 EagleBank Bowl with victories in each of its final two regular season games.</p>
<p>In ACC action on Saturday, conference leader Georgia Tech thumped Duke, 49-10. Clemson beat N.C. State, 43-23. Florida State defeated Wake Forest, 41-28. </p>
<p>Virginia Tech crushed Maryland, 36-9. North Carolina upset Miami, 33-24. And Boston College squeaked by Virginia, 14-10.</p>
<p>A shocker in Conference USA on Saturday, as UCF upset Houston, 37-32. </p>
<p>In other conference games, UAB won by 10 points against Memphis, 31-21. Southern Mississippi was a touchdown better than Marshall, 27-20. SMU beat UTEP, 35-31. </p>
<p>Rice picked up its first win of the year, defeating Tulane, 28-20. And East Carolina manhandled Tulsa, 44-17.</p>
<p><strong>Week 11 Player of the Week</strong><br />
North Carolina cornerback Kendric Burney had three interceptions, including one that he returned 77 yards for a touchdown, as the Tar Heels stunned nationally ranked Miami, 33-24.</p>

One big upset each in the ACC and Conference USA. North Carolina downed Miami, 33-24, while UCF shocked Houston, 37-32.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Army lost to fellow service academy Air Force, 35-7. The Black Knights and Falcons were tied 7-7 at the half, but Air force broke open the game with 28 unanswered points to emerge victorious.</p>
<p>Army is now 3-6 and must win its final three games to qualify for the 2009 EagleBank Bowl. </p>
<p>In the ACC, Virginia Tech defeated East Carolina, 16-3. Miami whipped Virginia, 52-17. N.C. State got by Maryland, 38-31. Georgia Tech squeaked by Wake Forest, 30-27, in overtime. </p>
<p>North Carolina handled Duke, 19-6. Clemson beat Florida State, 40-24.</p>
<p>In Conference USA, as mentioned above, East Carolina lost to Virginia Tech, 16-3. UCF was no match for highly ranked Texas, falling 35-3. </p>
<p>UAB won big over Florida Atlantic, 56-29. SMU bested Rice by a field goal, 31-28, while Tulane beat UTEP by a touchdown, 45-38.</p>
<p>Memphis scored half as many points as Tennessee in a 56-28 defeat. Houston came back in the final minutes of its game against Tulsa, pulling out the thriller, 46-45.</p>
<p><strong>Week 10 Player of the Week</strong><br />
Chalk up another Player of the Week nod to Houston’s Case Keenum. The junior quarterback completed 40 of 60 passes for 522 yards and three touchdowns, rallying the Cougars to nine points in the final 21 seconds of the game to defeat Tulsa, 46-45.</p>
<p><strong>Week 10 Upset of the Week</strong><br />
No really big upsets this week, so we’ll mention the two games that almost featured shocking final results: ACC leader Georgia Tech beat Wake Forest in overtime, while Conference USA powerhouse Houston scored nine points with less than a minute to go to get by Tulsa.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Army had the week off, so let’s get straight to all the week nine scores in the ACC and Conference USA.</p>
<p>In the ACC, North Carolina upset Virginia Tech, 20-17. Florida State squeaked by N.C. State in a shoot-out, 45-42. Clemson destroyed Coastal Carolina, 49-3. Boston College whipped Central Michigan, 31-10. </p>
<p>Duke beat Virginia, 28-17, while Miami stormed back against 2008 EagleBank Bowl champion Wake Forest, winning 28-27. Georgia Tech easily defeated Vanderbilt, 56-31.</p>
<p>In Conference USA action, East Carolina doubled up on Memphis, 38-19. Houston put up another big offensive display, racking up 50 points in a seven-point win over Southern Mississippi, which hung tough throughout the game. </p>
<p>SMU handled Tulsa, 27-13, while UAB beat UTEP in a close contest, 38-33. Tulane was no match for nationally ranked LSU, losing 42-0. In a nail-bitter, UCF inched past Marshall, 21-20.</p>
<p><strong>Week 9 Player of the Week</strong><br />
This week featured three standout quarterback performances, so rather than choose one, we’re going to honor them all. Houston QB Case Keenum racked up some ridiculous stats, throwing for 559 yards and five touchdowns in a win against Southern Mississippi. Miami QB Jacory Harris had 330 yards passing and three touchdowns, including the game-winner with about a minute left against Wake Forest. And Duke QB Thaddeus Lewis rallied Duke past Virginia, 28-17, as he compiled 343 yards passing and one touchdown.</p>
<p><strong>Week 9 Upset of the Week</strong><br />
North Carolina pulled off the shocker in week nine, defeating nationally ranked Virginia Tech by a field goal, 20-17.</p>
<p><strong>ACC Record in Week 9 Non-Conference Play</strong><br />
3-0. A perfect week, as Boston College, Clemson and Georgia Tech won by large margins in their non-conference games.</p>
<p><strong>C-USA Record in Week 9 Non-Conference Play</strong><br />
0-1. The only non-conference match up was not a close contest, as LSU smashed Tulane, 42-0.</p>

<p>In the ACC, Florida State squeaked by North Carolina, 30-27, picking up its first conference win. Georgia Tech hammered Virginia, 34-9, while Duke inched by Maryland, 17-13.</p>
<p>Clemson shocked Miami, 40-37, in overtime. Navy avenged its loss to Wake Forest in the 2008 EagleBank Bowl, this time defeating the Demon Deacons, 13-10. </p>
<p>Boston College hung close but lost to Notre Dame, 20-16.</p>
<p>In Conference USA action, UTEP beat Tulsa by four points, 28-24. Marshall had no problem with UAB, winning 27-7.</p>
<p>UCF destroyed Rice, 49-7. Southern Mississippi whipped Tulane, 43-6. Houston easily handled SMU, 38-15.</p>
<p><strong>Week 8 Player of the Week</strong><br />
Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder threw for a career-high 395 yards and three touchdowns, as the Seminoles rallied from a large second-half deficit to beat North Carolina, 30-27.</p>

Clemson pulled off the biggest surprise win, defeating Miami in overtime, 40-37.</p>
